Alice Ruth Price Samples, 91 of Rome, GA., life-long resident of Stevenson, AL, died June 26, 2018 at Floyd Medical Center in Rome, GA. Alice was the daughter of the late Webb V. and Naomi Bise Price born June 1, 1927 in Stevenson, AL. Alice married Sam Samples, Jr. on August 22, 1943. She retired from Standard-Coosa-Thatcher in Chattanooga, TN and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Bridgeport, AL. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years Sam Samples, Jr.; and son Phillip Glenn Samples; and grandson Michael Samples. Survivors include her son David Michael (Sallie) Samples of Rome, GA; daughter-in-law Sandra Samples of Chattanooga, TN; 4 grandchildren: Dana (Gordon) Samples Katz of Columbus, OH, Jason (Kelly) Samples of Ringgold, GA, Beth (Ashley) Samples Phillips of Rome, GA, Brian (Lindsay) Samples of Rome, GA; 12 great-grandchildren: Reid and Taylor Katz, Brady, Molly, Brock and Colby Samples, Alison and Matthew McFarland, Jace Phillips, Jasmine Osborn, Liam and Webb Samples. Visitation will be Thursday 6-8 PM and Friday 10-11 AM at Rudder Funeral Home in Stevenson. The Funeral Service will be Friday, June 29, at 11 AM in the funeral home chapel officiated by Dr. David Smith.
