Allen Luckey Knox, Jr., 90 of Montgomery, Alabama originally of Stevenson, Alabama, died January 15, 2009 at Jackson Hospital in Montgomery.
He was an Elder Emeritus, Sunday School Superintendent and Sunday School Teacher at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Montgomery. He had been an Educator and Coach in Tennessee and a Principal in Alabama School Systems and was Coordinator and Assistant Director of Alabama State Department of Education. He was also a WWII Army Air Force Veteran.
Mr. Knox was preceded in death by: his parents Allen Luckey and Susie Foster Rudder Knox, Sr.; brothers: Ernest Rudder Knox, Jack F. Knox and Neal C. Knox.
He is survived b y his wife Sybil Doris Baxter Knox of Montgomery, AL; children: Anita Knox Berry of Montgomery, AL, Daniel (Sheila) Knox and Benton (Dawn) Knox all of Scottsboro, AL; grandchildren: Amanda (Steve) Medlin of Hixson, TN, Rebecca Berry of Jacksonville, FL, Danielle Knox, Leslie Knox, Allen R. Knox and Jessica Knox all of Scottsboro, AL; great-grandchildren: Connor Medlin, Amelia Medlin and Gabriel Berry; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
The funeral will be Monday, January 19, at 11 AM CST at Rudder Funeral Home in Stevenson, AL officiated by Rev. Claude McRoberts and Rev. Michael Howell. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service beginning at 10 AM CST. Interment will be at Stevenson City Cemetery.
