Allie Florence Christian Reed, 87 of life-long resident of Stevenson, AL passed away June 28, 2011at Cumberland Health and Rehabilitation in Bridgeport, AL. Allie was the daughter of the late Sam William and Mary Francis Wooten Christian born January 8, 1924 in Stevenson, AL. Besides her parents, Allie was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years Henry Thomas "Buddy" Reed; son Thomas Wayne Reed; granddaughter Sheila Smith Greeson; 6 sisters and 7 brothers. Allie was a member of Snowford Advent Church.
Survivors include her daughters: Jessie (Bob G.) Smith, Cheryl (Harold) Turner all of Stevenson, AL; grandchildren: Sharon (Chris) Clark of Rainsville, AL, Travis Wayne (Patricia) Reed of Murphreesboro, TN, Faith (Chad) Appleton of Huntsville, AL, Telicia (Adam) Ray, Gayla Reed all of Stevenson, AL; 16 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be Wednesday 3-9 PM and Thursday 2-9 PM at Rudder Funeral Home in Stevenson, AL. The funeral service will be Friday, July 1, at 2 PM at the funeral home chapel followed by interment at the St. Bonaventure Cemetery in Bridgeport, AL.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Allie Reed to Cumberland Health and Rehabilitation.
