Annie Ruth Frost Loyd, 81 of Stevenson, AL died December 13, 2009 at Brookdale Place in Huntsville, AL.
She born to Miles Goodlett and Bess Cotton Frost, Sr. on January 23, 1928 in Nashville, TN and was the only daughter with seven brothers. She owned the Shoe Tree in Stevenson for many years. She taught about ten years at Higdon High School where she supplied the home economics department with appliances obtained by a grant for which she applied. Annie Ruth loved helping people. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Stevenson, DAR of Huntsville, Stevenson Book Club, Beautification Committee of the Ambassadors, Chamber of Commerce, Brookdale Red Hat Society, Brookdale Women's Bible Study. In the past she had been in the Home Demonstration Club, was the Stevenson Mothers Club Mother of the Year, Depot Days Grand Marshal, member of the PTA who made the drapes for the Stevenson High School Auditorium, and won first place in the 4H dressmaking competition.
Mrs. Loyd was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers: Miles Frost and Pollard Frost.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years Cecil Cicero Loyd, Jr.; children: Sharon Loyd of Suwanee, GA, Fannie (Don) Garner of Stone Mountain, GA, Bo Jack (Karen) Loyd of Duluth, GA; grandchildren: Claudia Garner, Wes Garner, Matt Loyd, Dillon Loyd; brothers: John Frost of Pulaski, TN, Jim (Alise) Frost of Germantown, TN, Woodard Frost of Brentwood, TN, Kenneth (Marrianna) Frost of Athens, AL, George (Mattie Sue) Frost of White House, TN and a host of other relatives and friends.
The funeral will be Tuesday, December 15, at 11 AM CT at Rudder Funeral Home in Stevenson officiated by Bro. John Krocker and Bro. Jim Puckett. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service time. Interment will be at Stevenson City Cemetery.
