Avie Lee White Hawes Gibson, 102 of Flat Rock, AL, went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 16, 2015, at her home. Avie was the daughter of the late Cleve and Ida Morris White born September 20, 1913 in Dutton, AL. She was a member of Caperton's Chapel Church.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands Elbert Hawes and Robert Gibson; siblings: Lena Thornhill, Dovie Blizzard, Shortie Pell, Mable Tripp, Ray White, and Earl White.
Survivors include her children: Gertrude Hawes Menzing, James E. (Wanda) Hawes, Billy (Wilma) Hawes, Marvin (Paulette) Hawes; Grandchildren: Joseph Menzing, Robert Menzing, Sabrina (Jerry) Miller, Morrisann (Bob) Winette, Josh (Tara) Holland; Great-Grandchildren: Jesse (Cheri) Richardson, Christina (Josh) Ladd, Libby Menzing, Kylie Tucker, Alex Benefield, Drake Holland, Gracie Holland; Great-Great-Grandchildren: Alexander Ladd, Kayden Ladd, Josh Richardson; brother John A. (Jane) White; many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Wednesday, 2-9 PM CT at Rudder Funeral Home in Stevenson, AL. The funeral service will be Thursday, November 19, at 11 AM CT in the funeral home chapel officiated by Rev. Glen York. Interment will be in Liberty Hill Cemetery in Flat Rock, AL. www.rudderfuneralhomes.com
