Ben Freeman Simpson, 85 of Stevenson, AL passed away February 23, 2010 at his home. He was the son of the late Ernest and Deborah (Patty Rose) Toney Simpson born April 19, 1924 in Stevenson, AL and one of 13 children. He was a WWII U.S. Army Veteran serving 1943-1946. He was a Tool Room Clerk for 32 years with Buick Division of General Motors in Flint, MI. After retiring from Buick, he worked moved back to Stevenson and worked as a Custodian at North Alabama Electric Co-op.
He leaves to cherish his memory: son Tony (Angela) Simpson; five grandsons: Antoine, Kevin, Antonio, Brandon, Shawn; two sisters Elisheba (Abishai) Israel, Laura Folds; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and a loving friend, Emma Lee Bruce, who cared for him until his death.
The funeral will be Sunday, February 28, at 2 PM CST at Rudder Funeral Home in Stevenson, AL officiated by Rev. William Langford and Rev. W. Simpson. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service time (1-2 PM). Interment will be at Cross Cemetery in Stevenson, AL.
