Ben Richard "Benny" Thomas, Jr., 77 of Stevenson, AL, died August 28, 2016 in Brookdale Kenwood Senior Living in Cincinnati, OH. "Benny" was the son of the late Ben Richard "Dick" and Addie Sue Barham Thomas born August 24, 1939 in Bridgeport, AL. Benny was a Stevenson High School Class of 1958 Graduate, a U.S. Army Veteran and member of VFW Stevenson Post. Mr. Thomas retired from Redstone Arsenal Missile Command where he worked for 43 years.
Survivors include his children: Kellye (Richard Andrew) Lowe of Cincinnati, OH, Ben Richard (Jennifer) Thomas III of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren: Whitney, Katie and Cassie Thomas, Ava and Vivian Lowe; sisters: Faye (Bill) Payne of Bridgeport, AL, Kay (Curt) Olson of Bridgeport, AL/TX; nieces: Lori (Chris) Frost, Leah (Clay) Guess; and special friend Judy Christopher.
Visitation is Thursday, 5-9 PM CDT at Rudder Funeral Home in Stevenson, AL. The Funeral Service will be Friday, Sep. 2, at 2 PM CDT in the funeral home chapel officiated by Rev. Houston Thomas. Interment will be in Stevenson City Cemetery. www.rudderfuneralhomes.com
