Bertha Mae Matthews' Obituary
Bertha Mae Matthews age 78 of Bridgeport passed away Tuesday, December 23, 2025. She is survived by sisters, Ann (Rick) Edmondson, Louise Henson; brother, Sam Pirkle; daughter, Laura Gaylor; 4 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents, Clifford Ellwood and Dessie Lorine Goins Bishop and sisters, Wilma Jones and Suzy Pirkle. Ms. Matthews loved to crochet and was a member of Concord United Methodist Church.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2025 from 3-5:00PM at Rudder Funeral Home Stevenson. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 28, 2025 beginning at 2:00PM in Rudder Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
