Aunt Betty always made a special fuss over us whenever we visited, from the time I was a baby to the times I brought my own daughters to see her. Our visits were always filled with good stories and laughter around the table in her spectacularly-decorated home. We enjoyed many dinners of BBQ enhanced with her homemade Southern sides that Betty especially prepared for “poor ol’ Travis.” After my mother passed, I appreciated that Aunt Betty continued to share her Marcie stories with me. Her memories were precious treasures to me.
I admired Betty’s love for Uncle Bill and the humorous banter & beautiful bond they shared. Her love for Kelly and Jeff was second to none; through the joys and heartaches of life, she was a champion of her children, grandson, and great-grandchildren. Sometimes, her love language was worry; always, she wished the best for everyone.
Aunt Betty changed my life. Her passion for teaching inspired me to become a teacher, a job I’ve been proud to do for 30 years and counting. More importantly, her passion for life and for her family made me proud to be a Tucker woman. You’ve earned the jewels in your eternal crown, Aunt Betty. 💕
