Mrs Betty Hendrix Smith's Obituary
Betty Hendrix Smith 86 of Huntsville passed away on Saturday October 27, 2018 following an extended illness. Betty loved reading, embroidery,genealogy-family research and flower gardening. She was born in Russellville, Al. and played the snare drum in the band at Russellville High School. She married Cherry W. Smith moved to Huntsville, Al. and raised four children, Daniel Smith(Gloria) of Nolensville, Tn; Lea Clark(Doug) of Gurley, Al; Art Smith(Diane) of Huntsville, Al. and Sue Taylor of Franklin, Tn.
She worked at the Huntsville Public Library for 12 years. Later she moved to Tucson, AZ. and worked in the office of the School system. She moved back to Huntsville, in 2011 to be near her children. Betty was a member of the Church of Christ.
Betty is also survived by 2 sisters, Millie Foutch(Louisiana) and Doris Woodruff(Russellville). She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild. She is preceded in death by her parents Claude and Effie Hendrix, Sister Helen Heller, Brothers, James Homer and J.T. (Poley) Hendrix.
A private graveside celebration of life will be held on Monday, October 29, 2018 at the Knights of Pythias Cemetery in Russellville, Al.
