Betty Carolyn Nevels Willis, 70 life-long resident of Stevenson, AL died May 17, 2009 at Highlands Medical Center in Scottsboro, AL. She was an insurance agent with Hembree Hall Insurance in Stevenson for years and was a member of Edgefield Baptist Church.
Mrs. Willis was preceded in death by her parents James Larry and Nancy Ellen Wise Nevels and brother Jack Nevels.
She is survived by her husband of nearly 53 years Kelcy Eugene Willis of Stevenson; children: Steve Willis, Gena (Rick) Norton all of Athens, TN, Roger Willis of Stevenson; grandchildren: Nikki (Mike) Kelly of Chattanooga, TN, Blake Willis of Stevenson; sister Bobbie (Charles) Payne of Norfolk, VA; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be Monday, 5-9 PM CDT at Rudder Funeral Home in Stevenson, AL. The funeral will be Tuesday, May 19, at 2 PM CDT at the funeral home chapel officiated by Rev. Don Jacobs. Interment will be at Stevenson City Cemetery. www.rudderfuneralhomes.com.
