Billie Crouch, 93 of South Pittsburg, TN, died November 24, 2011 at his home. Bill was the son of the late George William "Buddy" and Martha Shoeburg Crouch born April 7, 1918 in Stevenson, AL. Mr. Crouch was a WWII U. S. Army Veteran serving in Company "A" 322D Infantry from 1943-46 in the Southern Philippines and Western Pacific. He had worked as a laborer at TVA Widows Creek Steam Plant and was the oldest member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 26 years Maggie Huling Crouch; son Billy Thomas Crouch; brother Albert Crouch; sister Pearl Burrows.
Survivors include: his children: Ronald Lee (Evonne) Crouch of Jasper, TN, Jane (Sammy, Jr.) Smith of Springville, AL, Carol (Bill) Griffith of Spring City, TN, Debbie (Melvin) Smith of South Pittsburg, TN, Dean (Debbie) Crouch of South Pittsburg, TN; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a host of great-great-grandchildren and other relatives.
Visitation will be Saturday 12-8 PM CT at Rudder Funeral Home in Bridgeport, AL. The funeral will be 1 PM CT Sunday, November 27, at the funeral home chapel officiated by Bro. Wallace Ballard. Military Honors and Interment will be in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Bridgeport, AL. www.rudderfuneralhomes.com.
