Stevenson, Alabama
On December 16, 2016 our family suffered the loss of Billy Bryan Bean, known to us as "Poppy", of Stevenson, AL. He was born May 24, 1929 in Jackson County Alabama, and died quietly at the age of 87 in Scottsboro, Alabama.
He is survived by his wife, Dorotha Cloud Bean; one sister Imogene B. Stewart of Scottsboro, AL, his five children: Eddy B. Bean of Southside, AL, Terri B. Ades of Atlanta, GA, Thomas E. Bean of Stevenson, AL, Melanie B. Bradford of Birmingham, AL, and Shirley J. Bean of Tennessee; five grandchildren: Julie B. Patterson of St. Chroix, Bryan Bean of Chattanooga, TN, Audra B. Willyerd of Chattanooga, TN, Josh Ades of Atlanta, GA, and John Bean of Nashville, TN; and four great-grandchildren: Savannah Williams, Marolyn Bean, Sofia Bean, and Amelia Willyerd. He also was the grandfather to the late Beau Bean of Stevenson, AL.
"Poppy" was a lover of the outdoors - having spent most of his working life in the woods when logging, or on his farm with his cattle. In his later working life, he was a boilermaker and machinist for TVA. Nothing brought him greater happiness than walking the mountains of North Jackson County, watching BAMA football, or joking with his family. He will be missed most by those who knew him as "Poppy."
Visitation will be Sunday, December 18, 12-2 PM CST at Rudder Funeral Home in Stevenson, AL. The Funeral Service will begin Sunday at 2 PM CST in the funeral home chapel officiated by Mr. Randy, Smith, Mr. Roger Comstock and Mr. Robert Alexander. Interment will be in Stevenson City Cemetery.
