Bobby Lytell Badgett, 81 of Stevenson, AL, passed away January 30, 2016 at his home after an extended illness. Bobby was the son of the late Ocho and Codene Mayo Badgett born January 29, 1935 in Gadsden, Alabama. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War era 1952-1956. Bobby was a member of the First Baptist Church in Stevenson, VFW Post 1054, and Gadsden Pipefitter Local 498. Mr. Badgett was a TVA retiree having worked at Widows Creek, Bellefonte and other power plants.
He was preceded in death by his father Ocho Badgett; mother Codene Mayo Badgett Thompson; brothers Joseph and Thomas.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years Lila Jane Bryan Badgett; children: Steven (Brenda) Badgett, Deborah (Kelly) Stacy; grandchildren: Will (Jessica) Stacy, Ryan (Ashley) Badgett, Matthew Badgett; great-grandchildren: Brody Badgett, Kayden Stacy, Tucker Badgett, Owen Stacy.
Visitation will be Sunday, January 31, 4-8 PM at Rudder Funeral Home in Stevenson, AL. The Funeral Service will be Monday, February 1, at 1 PM in the funeral home chapel officiated by Rev. Josh Posey. Interment will be in Pinehaven Memorial Gardens in Hollywood, AL with Military Honors provided by Sequatchie Valley Honor Guard. www.rudderfuneralhomes.com
