Bobby Allen Perkins, 74 of Bridgeport, AL, died August 12, 2012 at The Bridge at South Pittsburg. Bobby was the son of the late Leland Boyd and Ina Inez Moore Perkins born February 2, 1938 in Lexington, TN. He had been a heavy-equipment operator at TVA Widows Creek Steamplant and the Job Stew with the IUOE Local 320 of Florence, AL. Bobby and his wife Ruth worked the Monteagle Flea Market selling ice cream, sodas and roasted peanuts, thus earning the nickname of "The Peanut Man" .
Besides his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by his son Phillip Allen Perkins.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years Willie Ruth Smith Perkins of Bridgeport, AL; children: Cathy (Robby) Eversole of Summerville, GA, Dan (Shannon) Perkins of East Ridge, TN, Lisa Davis of Bridgeport, AL; grandsons: Zachary (Misty Stewart) Perkins of Tuscaloosa, AL, Kyle Eric Perkins of East Ridge, TN; siblings: Brenda Tweedy of Eustace, FL, Tim (Betty) Moody of Houston, TN, Linda Moody of Frasier, TN, Jewell (Larry) Woods of Darden, TN; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be Monday, 5-9 PM at Rudder Funeral Home in Bridgeport, AL. There will also be a visitation on Tuesday 5-9 PM at Pafford Funeral Home in Lexington, TN. The funeral service will be Wednesday, August 15, at 1 PM at the Pafford Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Robby Eversole. Interment will be at the Lexington City Cemetery. www.rudderfuneralhomes.com
