Bunn William Lovelady, 85 of Stevenson, AL, passed away, Thursday, August 18, 2011 at Huntsville Hospital. Mr. Lovelady was a lifelong resident of Stevenson and attended Stevenson Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed playing golf and attending Stevenson Panther and North Jackson Chiefs football games. He graduated from Stevenson High School in 1944, was drafted into the Army in January 1945 and arrived in the Philippines on July 29, 1945. Mr. Lovelady began working at First National Bank of Stevenson, now First Southern State Bank, on January 29, 1946 where he served in various positions becoming President in 1975 until his retirement in 1995. He served as Chairman of the Board from 1981 until his death. He also served on the Jackson County Economic Development Authority for 27 years. He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Sara Ruth Wynne Lovelady, parents Lawrence and Jeanette Wynne Lovelady, and his twin siblings Mary Lou Lovelady and John Hugh Lovelady. He is survived by his son Jack Bunn (Liz) Lovelady of Scottsboro, AL; grandchildren: Thomas Campbell Lovelady and Sara Elizabeth Lovelady; several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be August 21, Sunday, 2-4 PM CDT at the Stevenson Cumberland Presbyterian Church immediately followed by the funeral service beginning at 4 PM CDT at the church officiated by Rev. Gary Tubb. Interment will be in the Stevenson City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Bunn Lovelady to the Stevenson Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
