Carl Edmond Lawhorne, 75 of Bridgeport, AL, died September 9, 2014 at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, TN. Carl was the son of the late Ira Albert and Ozelle Virginia Moore Lawhorne, born June 23, 1939 in Bridgeport. He had worked as a diesel mechanic for Norfolk Southern Railroad. He was a Bridgeport High School Graduate and of the Baptist faith.
Besides his parents, Carl was preceded in death by his son Britt Lawhorne and brother David Lawhorne.
Survivors include: children Barry (Kristi) Lawhorne of New Hope, TN, Phillip (Amy) Lawhorne of Whitwell, TN, Kim (John) Barnes of Jasper, TN, Jason Lawhorne and Justin (Katie) Lawhorne all of Bridgeport, AL; 20 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; siblings: Ruby Ellen (Calvin) Hudson of Jacksonville, FL, Peggy Sauro of Huntsville, AL, James A. "Jim" Lawhorne of TN.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, September 13, at 11 AM CDT at Rudder Funeral Home in Bridgeport, AL. Interment will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery. www.rudderfuneralhomes.com.
