Cecil Cicero "C" Loyd, Jr., 85 of Stevenson, AL, died May 14, 2010 at Park Springs Skilled Nursing Facility in Stone Mountain, GA.
He was the son of the late Cecil C. and Esther Kansas Williams Loyd, Sr. born June 22, 1924 in Stevenson, AL. He was a WWII U.S. Navy Veteran and graduate of U.S. Navy Electrical School. He was a graduate of UTK. He built and operated the Loyd's Feed Mill, built and managed the Highway 72 West Shopping Center and owned the Piggly Wiggly there. He was a past member of Alabama Milk Commission having served for 10 years and owned Loyd's Dairy. He was also a member of: Alabama Farmer Federation, VFW Post 10564, Quarterback Club, Stevenson Civic Club, Scottsboro-Jackson County Chamber of Commerce and a member and Deacon of First Baptist Church in Stevenson.
Besides his parents, Cecil was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years Annie Ruth Frost Loyd (he died 5 months, 1 hour and 7 minutes after she died); sister Sandy Loyd Buckner.
He is survived by children: Sharon Loyd, Fannie (Don) Garner, Cecil C. "Bo Jack" (Karen) Loyd III all of GA; grandchildren: Claudia Garner, Weston Garner, Matt Loyd and Dillon Loyd; brothers: Bo Loyd and Bill Jack Loyd; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
The funeral will be Saturday, May 15, at 2 PM CDT at Rudder Funeral Home in Stevenson, AL with visitation 2 hours prior to the service time (12-2 PM). Interment will be at Stevenson City Cemetery.
