Cecil Paul "C.P." Houser, 95 of Stevenson, AL, died peacefully in his sleep on April 15, 2012. Cecil was the son of the late Emery Jordon and Catherine Elizabeth Eakin Houser born February 28, 1917 in Yucca, Alabama. He was a farmer and also worked as a technician for Avondale Mills for 32 years. "C.P." was a devoted member of First Baptist Church in Stevenson.
Besides his parents, Mr. Houser was preceded in death by his wife of 74 years Gladys Emma Morris Houser; brothers: Carl Vernon Houser and "E.J." Houser, Jr. and sister Opal Houser Peters.
Survivors include his sons: Wallace Glenn (Faye) Houser of Birmingham, AL, Bobby Lee (Charlotte) Houser of Huntsville, AL, Benny Jack Houser of Stevenson, AL; grandchildren: Dwight Glenn Houser, Debbie Lynn Houser Hamby, Jeff Micheal Houser, Cheryl Lavonne Houser Brunton, Neil Wade Houser, Cynthia Ann Houser Steele, Tracey Lynn Houser McCrary, BJ. Houser, Haley Lynn Houser, Kennedy Hope Houser; 16 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; brother Estell (Dorothy) Houser, Freida Matthews, Juanita (Paul) Brooks, Wilma (Billy) Steele, Lila Mae (Paul) Crumwell; dear friends Donald and Tonya Beasley;a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be Tuesday and Wednesday 5-9 PM CDT at Rudder Funeral Home in Stevenson. The funeral service will be at the First Baptist Church on Thursday, April 19, at 11AM CDT officiated by Rev. Donald Cotten and Rev. Josh Posey. Interment will be in the Stevenson City Cemetery. www.rudderfuneralhomes.com
