Charles William "Bill" "Bird-Dog" Hall, 80 of Stevenson, AL, died February 18, 2015 at his home. "Bill" was the son of the late John Allison and Vivian Lois Lovelady Hall born September 6, 1934 in Bridgeport, AL. He served in the U.S. Army. He owned and operated an insurance agency for 30 years then owned a real estate and auction business for 25 years. Bill was very active in the Stevenson Jaycees, Stevenson Civic Club, Men's Fellowship, Ducks Unlimited and various civic clubs and activities. He was an avid quail hunter as well as dove, turkey and ducks. He went on many trips to the northwest for pheasant hunting. His game of choice must have feathers. "Bird-Dog" loved sharing his hunting activities with friends and family and took great pride in his hunting dogs.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Philip Charles Hall; sister Dorothy Blake and brother John Cobb Hall.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years Carolyn Harris Hall; daughter Gena Hall Blackmon; granddaughters: Margaret Ellen and Caroline Blackmon; sisters: Betty Smith, Jean Jolley, Jewel Barham and Susie (Don) Smith; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be Friday 5-9 PM CT at Rudder Funeral Home in Stevenson. The Funeral Service will be Saturday, February 21, at 11 AM CT at the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Stevenson City Cemetery. www.rudderfuneralhomes.com
