Charles David Winchester Sr's Obituary
Charles David Winchester, Sr. 63 of Scottsboro passed away Sunday, January 19, 2014 at his home. Mr. Winchester was an Official with over 30 years of membership with the Alabama High School Athletic Association, where he officiated football, basketball, and baseball games. A member of the Scottsboro Golf & Country Club and also of the Scottsboro Masonic Lodge # 359.
He is survived by his wife - Beth Blackburn Winchester; children - Leslie Slaten of Scottsboro, Charlie (Kim) Winchester of Tallassee, Sally (Wesley) Black of Scottsboro, and Becky Mason of Scottsboro; grandchildren – Brooke and Jake Slaten of Scottsboro, Tyler Winchester and Coleman Teel of Tallassee, Meredith and Judd Black of Scottsboro, and Lexi Mason of Scottsboro; Siblings – Sue (Dean) Bernardi of Choctaw, OK, Buddy (Vera) Winchester of Clarksville, TN, Bobby (Glenda) Winchester of Mt. Juliet, TN, Betty Holt of Gainesville, FL; a host of nieces and nephews; brother-in-law – Glenn (Joyce) Blackburn of Somerset, KY.
He is preceded in death by his parents – Jesse Winchester & Mary Emily Winchester; and parents-in-law – Glenn & Edith Blackburn.
Visitation will be Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at Rudder Funeral Home from 5-8 P.M.
Funeral Service will be 11 A.M., Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at Rudder Funeral Home Chapel
Officiating: Dr. Allen Hays
Interment: Pinehaven Memorial Gardens, Hollywood, AL
