Charlie David Maynor, 69 of Stevenson, AL, died August 29, 2009 at his home after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born August 29, 1940 in Carnes, Alabama. Charlie owned and operated the Airport Grocery for many, many years.
Mr. Maynor was preceded in death by his parents Loomis Orville and Ruthie Ruby Sanders Maynor; siblings Jessie Maynor, Clyde Maynor, James Maynor and Anna Ruth Maynor.
Charlie leaves behind his loving wife of 52 years Sarah Elizabeth Warren Maynor; son and daughter-in-law Wayne and Mary Maynor of Stevenson; grandsons: Jeremy (Steva) Maynor and Brandon Maynor and Dana Wilbanks all of Stevenson; great-grandchildren: Hunter, Reece and Skylar Maynor; siblings: Ala Mae Allen of Flat Rock, AL, John A. (Betty) Maynor of Hixson, TN, Judy Morgan of Stevenson, Roy Paul (Jennie) Maynor of Stevenson, Mary Lou (James) Haney of Brownsboro, AL; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Saturday 6-9 PM CDT and Sunday 2-9 PM CDT at Rudder Funeral Home in Stevenson, AL. The funeral will be Monday, August 31, at 11 AM CDT at the funeral home chapel officiated by Rev. Mayburn Guess and Rev. John Gamble followed by burial at Inglis Cemetery in Fackler, AL.
