Mr. Clarence Neal Bryant Jr.'s Obituary
Clarence Neal Bryant, Jr., age 88 of Scottsboro, passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2016 at Rosewood Manor in Scottsboro. Mr. Bryant is survived by his wife, Sandra Kay Bryant; sons and daughter-in-laws, Charles and Jeannie Bryant, Bill and Andrea Bryant; and daughters, Leah and Dennis Fuqua, and Amy and David Berry; and a sister, Sue Bryant Thomas. He was blessed with many grandchildren; Alyson Bryant Gulley (Chris), Lindsey Bryant Elliott (Scott), Jennifer Bryant Bone (Rodney), Chuck Bryant (Stacy), Foster Bryant (Erin), Neal Bryant (Kelly), Matthew Bryant, Mandy Gulley, Danielle Furlough, Emma Grayce Fuqua, John David Berry and Lillian Kay Berry. Great grandchildren include Cheyenne Chrisman, Krystina Jackson, Kaitlyn Jackson, Courtney Watson, Lyndi Elliott, Logan Elliott, Jace Gulley, Nicholas Elliott, C.J. Gulley, Taylor Bone, Hallie Bone, John Bone, Jake Bryant, Cole Bryant, Jack Bryant, Cassidy Bryant; and one great-great grandchild, Avery McCain. Mr. Bryant was preceded in death by his wife of many years, Ethel Bryant; parents, Clarence Neal and Velma Roach Bryant, Sr.; brother, Bill Bryant; sisters, Elizabeth Carter, Dorothy Muse, and Virginia Bryant; and first born grandchild, John Neal Bryant. Mr. Bryant was a United States Army Veteran of World War II, Former Chairman of the Jackson County Healthcare Authority Board of Directors, a member of the State Board of Agriculture, Alfa Board member and former president of the Jackson County Farmers Federation, served on the board of the Alabama Farmers Federation State Committee, a former board member of the North Alabama Electric Co-op, and retired Post Master of the Hollywood Post Office. He was a dedicated and beloved farmer. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He had the vision for building the Cumberland Health and Rehabilitation center in Stevenson. He often said the people of that area of the county needed a facility. The family would like to thank Alacare Home Health and Hospice and the people of Rosewood Manor for all their love and care shown to Mr. Bryant during his illness.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 12th at Rudder Funeral Home in Scottsboro from 5pm until 9pm. On Wednesday, the body will lie-in-state at Calvary Baptist Church in Scottsboro from 9am until 11am with the funeral service to begin at 11am with Dr. Robert Gamble and Dr. Alan Hayes officiating.
