Clarence Thomas Burton, 81 of Bridgeport, AL died July 24, 2010 at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, TN.
Clarence was the son of the late Oscar Clarence and Vertie Bell Dobbins Burton born March 19, 1929 in Stevenson, Alabama. He was a U.S. Air Force WWII Veteran and was member of Calvary Baptist Church. He had worked as an equipment operator with Penn-Dixie Concrete in Richard City, TN.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Mary Davis.
Survivors include his children: Clarence J. "Stinker" Burton of Bridgeport, AL, Linda Diane Burton of OK, Judy Kay (Randall) Schaller of OK, Larry "Bumper" Burton of Dayton, TN; grandchildren: Adam Brock Burton, Rhonda Wolverton, Rene Hall, Joseph Garza, Jason Garze, Rachelle Schaller, Randall Schaller, Ruthann McLain, Joel Garza, Samantha Jade Burton; 13 great-grandchildren; siblings: Jack (Dorothy) Burton, Eugene (Shirley) Burton, Norma (Floyd) Nabors, Molly (Fred) Hancock; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be Monday, 5-9 PM CDT at Rudder Funeral Home in Bridgeport, AL. The funeral will be Tuesday, July 27, at 2 PM CDT at the funeral home chapel officiated by Rev. Jim Thomas followed by burial at Longacre Cemetery in Stevenson, AL. www.rudderfuneralhomes.com
