Dennis Carl Smith, 63 of Bryant, Alabama, died unexpectedly February 28, 2014. Dennis was a devout family man who loved his country. Dennis was an Army veteran and member of Glendale Church of Christ. He was a member of the local Masonic Lodge 920, The Scottish Rite Club of Chattanooga, The American Legion 62, IEOU 917, and The Cattlemen's Association of Alabama. Dennis was retired from AEDC, Tullahoma. He was a graduate of Bridgeport High School Class of '68.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents: Calvin and Lori Mae Dial Smith, Parents-in-law: Kelly Lee and Alice Olinger; grandparents: Haz and Hattie Dial, Albert and Lettie Smith.
Those left to remember him are his wife of 45 years Jessie Lee Olinger Smith; Son Tracey (Kim) Smith; daughter Karla (Josh) Holtcamp; cherished grandchildren: Dakotah (Whitney) Smith, Jessica Smith, Landon and Karlee Mae Holtcamp; great-grandchildren: Paeton Smith and Malachai Reddicks; stepmother Glenda Smith; siblings: Eddy Smith, Donna Simmons, Connie (Doug) Smith, Gary Smith, David Smith; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be Saturday 5-9 PM CT, Sunday 12 to 8 PM CT at Rudder Funeral Home in Bridgeport, AL. The funeral service will be Monday, March 3, at 2 PM CT at the funeral home chapel officiated by Ministers Lenny Santee and Daryel Haynes. Military Honors by Sequatchie Valley Honor Guard and Interment will be at the Harris Chapel Cemetery In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Harris Chapel Cemetery Fund, P.O Box 351, Bryant, Alabama 35958. www.rudderfuneralhomes.com
