Dorothy Allison Dean, 93, died Saturday, June 16, 2012 in Falkville, AL.
She was born on November 24, 1918 in Stevenson, AL. and a long-time resident of Scottsboro.
Dorothy worked as a nurse in Jackson County Hospital and Revere for many years. She also was a member of the First Baptist Church in Scottsboro.
She is preceded in death by her husband’s Aubrey Womack, and C.T. Dean, and Daughter, Sherrill Evans Dawson, mother, Arie Steele Allison,
And father, William Allison predeceased her.
She is survived by her brother Bennie Jack Allison of Chattanooga, TN. One daughter, Johnnie C. Evans Thomas of Big Coon; 4 grandchildren, Marcia Reese Griswald of Scottsboro; Tonya Potterfield (Rob) Jackson of
Decatur; Billy (Jana) Potterfield of Scottsboro; and Leslie Potterfield (Jason) Davis of Kentucky. Great- grandchildren are Abigail Jackson, Tanner Potterfield, Caroline Potterfield, John Will Potterfield, Natalie Claire Davis, and Ethan Davis. She has many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews living.
Visitation will be on Monday, June 18th from 5:00-8:00 pm at Rudders Funeral Home in Scottsboro. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at 11:00 am r at Rudders funeral home.
