Dorothy "Dot" Lucille Briscoe Henson, 86 of Jacksonville, Alabama, died April 13, 2012 at her home. Dot was the daughter of the late William David and Alice Crabtree Briscoe born April 10, 1926 in Stevenson, AL. She had a Masters Degree in Elementary Education teaching 4-6th grades in Birmingham City Schools and DeKalb Co. GA schools. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Anniston; Alabama Retired Teachers Assoc. and Birmingham Retired Teachers Assoc.
Besides her parents, Mrs. Henson was preceded in death by her husband John William Henson and sister Eliza Woodall.
Survivors include her son John David Henson of Jacksonville, AL; grandchildren: Johnathan Henson, Daniel Henson and Hailey Henson of GA.
Visitation will be two hours prior to the funeral service from 10 AM-12 PM on Monday, April 16, at Rudder Funeral Home in Stevenson, AL. The funeral service will begin at 12 noon in the funeral home chapel
officiated by Dr. Ashley Rinehart and Rev. Joseph William Mathews. Interment will be in the Stevenson City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Dorothy Henson to the Autistic Society in GA. www.rudderfuneralhomes.com
