Edward Patalas, 75 of Stevenson, AL, died August 23, 2016 at his home. Ed was the son of the late Thomas and Hulda Rich Patalas, born June 11, 1941 in Chicago, IL. He was an over-the-road truck driver for Foodliner, Inc. He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment between 1959-1961. Mr. Patalas was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Stevenson.
Besides his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his two sons: Steven and Kevin Patalas and sister Tina Patalas.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years Shirley Joyce Coffman Patalas; daughter Teresa (Scott) Lakey of Jasper, TN; grandchildren: Jessica (Lane) Burleson of Rainsville, AL, Jordan Patalas of Stevenson, AL; special great-granddaughter Emilie Leathers of Jasper, TN; two great-grandsons Braxton Farmer and Nathan Burleson; brothers: Bill (Beverly) Patalas of Scottsboro, AL, Tom Patalas of IL; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be Thursday, 3-8 PM CDT at Rudder Funeral Home in Stevenson, AL. The Funeral Service will be Friday, August 26, at 1 PM CDT in the funeral home chapel officiated by Rev. Danny Lee and Rev. Bill Stone. Interment will be in Longacre Cemetery. www.rudderfuneralhomes.com.
