Elbert Beaird's Obituary
Elbert Leon Beaird passed away at his home on Sunday, April 29, 2012 at the age of 80 years old. Retired Lt. Colonel Elbert Beaird was a Korean War veteran having served as a member of the Company B, 151st Combat Engineer Battalion. He was also a faithful member of Randall’s Chapel United Methodist Church and was active in the United Methodist Men’s Organization.
Visitation services will be held on Monday, April 30, 2012 from 4-7PM at Rudder Funeral Home in Scottsboro. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 1, 2012 from Randall’s Chapel United Methodist Church beginning at 11:00 AM with Rev. Michael Carver and Rev. Randy Burbank officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Beaird is survived by: sons, Steven (Emma Dean) Beaird and Bruce Beaird, both of Scottsboro; grandchildren, Natalie Dean Beaird and Steven Dawson Beaird, both of Scottsboro; brothers, Wayne (Jewel) Beaird and Arthur (Glenda) Beard; sisters, Eunice Phillips, Ethel (Johnny) Brannon, Jane (J.D.) Phillips; sisters-in-Law, Betty Jean (Harry) Wood and Nancy Rose (James) McGregor; along with a several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Beaird is preceded in death by his wife, Lola Scott Watson Beaird; parents, Roy Luther and Johnnie Beaird; brother, Lester Beaird; sister, Ruth Akin.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to the building fund at Randall’s Chapel United Methodist Church.
