Elder Eddie Lee Scott, Sr., 87 of Stevenson, Alabama, died February 15, 2013 at Cumberland Health and Rehabilitation. Eddie was the son of the late Willis and Sylvia Beasley Scott born May 9, 1925 in Huntsville, Alabama. In his early years, he worked as a clerk at the Redstone Arsenal Base in Huntsville, AL. Then worked on the railroad and at times his crew camped outside of Cincinnati, OH in Ludlow, KY. Later, he worked at Lodge Stove Foundry in South Pittsburg, TN. His last occupation prior to disability was at TVA Widows Creek Steamplant outside of Stevenson and Bridgeport, AL. From an early age, he became active in the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in the Cedar Switch Community of Stevenson, AL and became an Elder and later was ordained as Pastor. He also attended many Cumberland Presbyterian assemblies. He enjoyed spending time gardening, hunting, fishing and raising animals for food.
Besides his parents, Mr. Scott was preceded in death by his wife Evelyn Pauline Ward Scott.
Survivors include his children: Iola Scott Jones of Albany, GA, Lois Scott Narcisse of Charlotte, NC, Queen Scott Lambert of Chicago, IL, Johnnie Earls Price of Chicago, IL, Willard (Vanessa) Scott of Cincinnati, OH, Marshall L. Scott of Stevenson,AL, Eddie L. (Barbara) Scott, Jr. of Stevenson, AL, Sugar Ray Scott of Stevenson, AL; 18 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
The Wake will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, February 21, at Rudder Funeral Home in Stevenson, AL. The Funeral Service will begin at 12 Noon on Thursday in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Cross Cemetery. www.rudderfuneralhomes.com
