Elizabeth Dicus' Obituary
Mrs. Dicus was a native of Jackson County and resided here all of her life. She was the long time owner and operator of Elizabeth's Shoe Box in Scottsboro until her retirement, she was very devoted to her church, First United Methodist of Scottsboro, where she served in several capacities. In addition, she worked tirelessly toward raising funds to enable the Price Cemetery at Mud Creek to be perpetually maintained. She served as a long time Highland Ambassador for the Scottsboro/Jackson County Chamber of Commerce and served on the Scottsboro Waterworks, Sewer and Gas Board for 24 years. She was Scottsboro Citizen of the Year in 1995.
