Elizabeth Ann Thompson Mayes, 72 of Stevenson,Alabama died July 28, 2013 at her home. Elizabeth was the daughter of the late Tom Ashley and Ella Jane Carlisle Thompson born August 29, 1940 in Arab, Alabama. She was a member of the Stevenson Holiness Church.
Besides her parents, Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband Melvin Mayes, Sr.; son Calvin Mayes; sister Daisy Sisk.
Survivors include her children: Melvin Mayes, Jr.,of TN, Billy Mayes of Stevenson, AL, Cathy (Bobby) Pace of Scottsboro, AL, Wayne (Barbara) Mayes of Stevenson, Jimmy (Linda) Mayes of Stevenson, Patty (Marvin) Barnes of Stevenson, Frank Mayes of Stevenson; 13 Grandchildren; 17 Great-Grandchildren; siblings: George (Faye) Thompson of Wannville, AL, Lester (Peggy) Thompson of Scottsboro, AL, Carolyn Lyda of Whitwell, TN, Linda (Martin) Pace of Rome, GA, Peggy Treece of GA, Barbara Sue Garrett of PA; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be Monday 4-9 PM CDT and Tuesday 10 AM- 9PM CDT at Rudder Funeral Home in Stevenson, AL. The funeral service will be Wednesday, July 31, at 2 PM CDT at the funeral home chapel officiated by Bro. James Johnson,Bro. Junior Hinkles, Bro. Norman Ingram.
