Mrs Elizabeth S. "Libby" Franklin's Obituary
Mrs. Elizabeth S. "Libby" Franklin of Scottsboro passed away on Thursday January 15, 2026 at her home following a short illness. Libby was a long time member of the First United Methodist Church for forty nine years, where her faith and love for others were evident throughout her life. She deeply cherished her family and treasured time spent with friends. On weekends, she could often be found dancing with Ralph, proudly saying they had danced on nearly every ballroom floor in North Alabama. Libby found joy in life's simple blessings-like setting on the back porch, especially during family dinners, and creating a welcoming home filled with warmth and love. Cooking was her love language; she joyfully catered for the community and delighted in serving others. Holidays held a special place in her heart, as she loved gathering with family to celebrate together. Libby also enjoyed sewing and homemaking taking pride in caring for her home and those she loved. Libby met the love of her life, Ralph at a Beta Club convention in Knoxville, Tn. in the spring of 1956. They spent two years apart while Libby completed high school and Ralph attended college. When Libby invited Ralph to her business school graduation, their lives reunited and they remained together from that moment on. Libby lived for an amazing 86 years. She is finally home in the arms of Jesus.
