Elmoore Leroy Rorex's Obituary
Elmoore Leroy Rorex, 87 of Bridgeport, Alabama, died peacefully at his home November 11, 2013 surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Charlotte Cloud Rorex, son Glenn (Bonnie) Rorex of Bridgeport, daughter Jane (Larry) Holland, granddaughter Angie (Mark) Sutton and grandson Jeff (Colette) Holland all of Dutton, AL and grandson David Walker of Rossville, GA; sisters: Joan (J.B.) Hagan of Huntsville, AL, Martha Vaughn of Bryant, AL; sisters-in-law: Patsy Rorex of Bridgeport, Dot (Billy) Bean of Stevenson, AL, and Betty Cloud of Clarksville, TN, and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents Sam and Bertha Poe Rorex, brother Tommy Rorex, and brothers-in-law: Ted Cloud and Chester Vaughn.
Mr. Rorex retired from TVA after working as a cost accountant for 33 1/2 years at Widows Creek Steam Plant and Bellefonte Nuclear Plant construction site. He has also worked for Spencer Wayne Plumbing, Sears Roebuck, Bridgeport Housing Authority, and the First National Bank, and has been a substitute school bus driver for the Bridgeport area. He was a member of the Stevenson Church of Christ. He was a WWII U.S. Army Veteran having served with his best friend Edward (Goat) Raulston at Camp Joseph T. Robinson in Little Rock, AR and was a member of the American Legion.
Visitation will be Wednesday, 5-9 PM CST, Thursday 2-9 PM CST and Friday 10-11 AM CST at Rudder Funeral home in Bridgeport, AL. The funeral will be Friday, November 15, at 11 AM CST at the funeral home chapel with ministers Dale Andrews and Randy Smith officiating. Interment will be at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens in Jasper, TN. Military honors will be provided by the Sequatchie Valley Veterans Honor Guard.
