Ernestine "Tine" Liggins, 55 life-long resident of Stevenson, AL died July 1, 2010 at Crestwood Medical Center in Huntsville, AL.
Ernestine was a Graduate of Stevenson High School Class of 73 and was continuing her college education. She had worked over 20 years as a physical therapist at North Jackson Hospital until the closing of the facility and had worked as an inspector at Maples Industries. She was a devoted member of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, having confessed Christ at an early age, served on the Usher Board and was the Church Announcer for many years.
She was preceded in death by her mother Barbara Jean "Bobbie" Matthews who passed away July 4, 2009 and special cousin Hershel Buckner.
Survivors include her brother James "Beau" (Gloria) Liggins; sister Denise "Cookie" (Charles "Chuckie" Eldridge) Liggins all of Stevenson, AL; niece Jasmin "Sheena" (Zack Willbanks) Liggins of Stevenson; nephews Nicholas"Nick" Liggins of Albertville, AL and Rakim Liggins of Stevenson, AL; great-niece Diamond Liggins of Stevenson, AL; Godson Andy Hutchins, very close friends Kathy Hutchins and Jeffery Eldridge; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives and friends.
The funeral will be 2 PM CDT, Sunday, July 4, at Rudder Funeral Home in Stevenson, AL officiated by Rev. Kelvert Scruggs. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service time beginning at 1 PM CDT. Interment will be at the Stevenson Community Cemetery.
