Ethel Grider Thomas, 79 of Bridgeport, AL died May 27, 2009 at Cumberland Health and Rehabilitation in Bridgeport. She was a carpet mill twister having worked at Avondale and retired from Salem Carpet. She was a member of Bridgeport Church of Christ.
Mary Ethel Grider Thomas was preceded in death by her husband James Maurice "J.M." Thomas; parents Asberry "Berry" and Callie Margaret Hunter Grider; sister Arcia Faye Ridley and brother Argel Hunter Grider.
She is survived by her children: Susie (Jimmy) Grider, James (Joyce) Thomas all of Stevenson, AL, Richard (June) Thomas, Jake (Christel) Thomas all of Bridgeport, AL; grandchildren: Travis Thomas, Kelli Little, Amy Alred, Jamie Henegar, Heather Garner, Chad Grider, Trae Thomas, Shanda Thomas; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers: Harold Grider of Bridgeport, William "Red" Grider of Jasper, TN, Charles Grider of Bryant, AL; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be Thursday, 5-9 PM CDT at Rudder Funeral Home in Bridgeport, AL. The funeral will be Friday, May 29, at 2 PM CDT at the funeral home chapel officiated by Mr. Barry Grider followed by interment at the Walker Family Cemetery in Bridgeport.
