I was a student of Mr. Fred’s and he taught my Algebra class. He was a wonderful teacher, strict but fair! Most of the class was afraid to speak up, but I would and because I did, he gave me extra points so that I would have an A- in his class. I saw where June Pockrus mentioned his ability to stand center court and make a shot. I was always in awe of him being able to do that! To you, his family, I send my sincere condolences! He will be missed!

I'm so sad to hear about Mr. Thomas' death. He was one of my favorite high school teachers; he was my algebra teacher and did an excellent job. It touched my heart to see him around Scottsboro when I could see his health deteriorating. An amazing memory was watching Mr. Thomas stand in the center of the basketball court and shoot a basketball right through the hoop. We miss you already, Mr. Thomas.
