George Vinson Crawford, Sr., 77 of Bridgeport, AL, died January 21, 2017 at his home. Vinson was the son of the late James Lee and Elmo Lee Vinson Crawford born May 19, 1939 in Stevenson, AL. He had worked at Galaxy Carpet as a finisher operator for 32 years.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers: Billy Harold, Jimmy, Ridley, Robert Crawford and sisters Joyce Haley and Joan Creighton.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years Mary Elizabeth Haley Crawford; children: Rhonda (Willie) Kirk, Vinson (Susan) Crawford, Jr., Sandy (Chris) Hawes and Jimmy Coffman; grandchildren: Sam Smith, Lauren Crawford, Koty Coffman, Chase Hawes, Mason Crawford, Aidan Hawes, Joey Hawes, Hannah Hawes; great-grandchildren: Colt Smith and Bo Smith; brother Roy Dennis Crawford; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be Sunday 6-9 PM CT at Rudder Funeral Home in Bridgeport, AL. The Funeral Service will be Monday, January 23, at 2 PM CT in the funeral home chapel officiated by Rev. Brandon Evans and Rev. Dustin Henshaw. Interment will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery in Bridgeport. www.rudderfuneralhomes.com
