George Turney Foshee, Jr. , 84 of Stevenson, AL died March 6, 2010 at his home. George was the son of the late George Turney and Mary Harrison Steele Foshee born January 8, 1926 in Stevenson, AL. He was a graduate of Stevenson High School Class of 1947. George was a U. S. Army WWII Veteran having been awarded a Bronze Star Medal for meritorious achievement in ground combat against the armed enemy in the European-African-Middle Eastern Theater of Operations. He was a milwright by trade. George was a member of Stevenson Cumberland Presbyterian Church, a Life Member of VFW Post #10564, Bolivar Masonic Lodge #127 and Milwright Local #654 in Chattanooga, TN.
Besides his parents, George was preceded in death by his wife Juanita Jane Evans Foshee; 6 sisters: Emma, Ivylee, Sally, Love, Eula and Thelma; 3 brothers: Otis Albert and Bobby Clyde Foshee.
Mr. Foshee is survived by his two sons: Homer Foshee of Stevenson, AL, George T. (Sherry) Foshee III; grandchildren: Selena (Jason) May of Knoxville, TN, George T. (Jennifer) Clarkson) Foshee IV of Knoxville, TN, and Amanda Foshee of Stevenson, AL; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be Sunday and Monday 5-9 PM CST at Rudder Funeral Home in Stevenson, AL. The funeral will be Tuesday, March 9, at 11 AM CST at the funeral home chapel officiated by Rev. Gary Tubb and Rev. Randy Crawford. Interment will be at Stevenson City Cemetery.
