George Jacob Werner, age 84, of Bridgeport, AL, passed away peacefully at his home Saturday, October 15, 2011. Mr. Werner was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in World War II. He worked at TVA for over 20 years as a Chemical Laboratory Analyst retiring in 1980.
Mr. Werner is survived by his wife Odessa Lawhorne Werner, childen: Wayne and Dana Jones and Richard and Anne Kirk; grandchildren: Audley and Jennifer Jones, Benton and Amanda Jones, Shane and Denise Kirk and Nathan and Elaine Kirk; great-grandchildren: Samantha, Mackenzie, Madeline and Bradley Jones, Jacob, Ethan and Emma Jones, Chase and Cameron Kirk, and Courtney and Andrew Kirk. Also surviving is one brother Charles and Lou Emma Werner and nieces Marcetta and Nelson Wong, and Keena and Brian Masters.
He was preceded in death by his parents Charles Wade and Clara Werner.
Family will receive friends Sunday, October 16, 2011 from 2 PM to 8 PM CDT and Monday from 12 noon until service time. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM CDT Monday, October 17, 2011 in the funeral home chapel with interment following at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens.
