Gertrude "Trudy" Goforth Gossett, 75 of Stevenson, AL, went home to be with her Lord August 16, 2012 at Cumberland Health and Rehabilitation. Alice Gertrude was born July 2, 1937 in Stevenson, AL. She had worked at H.D. Lee and had worked as a waitress a Mud Creek Restaurant in the past. Trudy was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church.
Trudy was preceded in death by her son A.C. Goforth; parents James Elmer Goforth and Rader Mae Hallman Brooks; brother James William " Goat Man" Goforth.
Ms. Gossett was survived by her daughter and son-in-law Patricia and Gary Poe of Stevenson; grandsons: James Matthews and Clay Poe; sister Marie Matthews of Scottsboro, AL., special friend Bea Blakenship and a host of other friends and relatives.
Visitation will be Friday, 5-9 PM at Rudder Funeral Home in Stevenson, AL. The funeral service will be Saturday, August 18, at 2 PM at the funeral home chapel officiated by Rev. George Warr followed by interment
