Gladys Bolden Roberts, 87 of Sherwood, TN, died January 17, 2012 at her home. Gladys was the daughter of the late Ephram and Minnie Latisha Bell Bolden born March 4, 1924 in Sneedville, Hancock Co., TN. She had worked as a presser in a clothing textile mill. Mrs. Roberts was a member of the Church of Christ in Anderson, TN.
Besides her parents, Gladys was preceded in death by her husbands Carl Bartley Gray and William Jay "Jay Bird" Roberts; son Helma Hoey Gray; brothers: Hubert, Clyde, Claude, Cletus, Estus, Jessie, Izar and sisters: Alice and Ellie; grandson Curtis Gray and great-grandson Cody Hill.
Survivors include her sons: David (Pat) Gray of Stevenson, AL, Robert A. Gray of Estil Springs, TN, Randy Roberts of Sherwood, TN; grandchildren: Tammy Hill, Robert A. Gray, Jr., Carol Partin, Darlene Prince, Brandan Gray, Chris Gray; 12 great-grandchildren: sisters: Pearl (Bob) Hoffmen of Strawberry Plains, TN, Ruby Ogle of Sevierville, TN, Joyce (Vic) Baker of Thornhill, TN; brother Raymond (Joyce) Bolden of Thornhill, TN; extended family: Sarah Burtram, Nonnie Estes, Jackie Edwards; and a host of other relatives.
Visitation will be Wednesday, 5-9 PM CT at Rudder Funeral Home in Stevenson, AL. The funeral service will be Thursday, January 19, at 2 PM CT at the funeral home chapel officiated by Bro. Johnny Stevens. Interment will be in the Mountain View Cemetery in Sherwood, TN. www.rudderfuneralhomes.com.
