Gladys Morris Houser, 92 of Stevenson, AL, died January 2, 2012 at Highlands Medical Center. Emma Gladys was the daughter of the late Luther Vernon "L.V." and Mary Ethel Prince Morris born December 6, 1919 in Stevenson, AL. She retired after 30 years as an Avondale winder. Mrs. Houser was a member of First Baptist Church in Stevenson. She married Cecil Paul "C.P." Houser August 14, 1937.
Besides her parents, Gladys was preceded in death by her siblings: Evelyn Willmon, Warnie Morris and James Morris.
Survivors include her husband of 74 years Cecil Paul "C.P." Houser of Stevenson, AL; sons: Wallace Glenn (Faye) Houser of Birmingham, AL, Bobby Lee (Charlotte) Houser of Huntsville, AL, Benny Jack Houser of Stevenson, AL; grandchildren: Dwight Glenn Houser, Debbie Lynn Houser Hamby, Jeff Micheal Houser, Cheryl Lavonne Houser, Neil Wade Houser, Cynthia Ann Houser Steele, Tracey Lynn Houser McCrary, B.J. Houser, Haley Lynn Houser, Kennedy Hope Houser; 16 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; sisters: Bethel Cashon of Huntsville, AL, Helen Bradford of Hollywood, AL;and a host of other relatives.
Visitation will be Wednesday, 1-9 PM CT at Rudder Funeral Home in Stevenson, AL. The funeral service will be Thursday, January 5, at 2 PM CT at the funeral home chapel. Interment will be at Stevenson City Cemetery.
