Ms. Gladys Mable Travis' Obituary
Gladys Mable Travis, age 103 of Scottsboro, AL, passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2016. She was the oldest charter member of Calvary Baptist Church, and was very devoted to her church and family. She also was a substitute teacher for the public school system. Ms. Travis is survived by her son, Harry Travis of Scottsboro; daughter, Carolyn (Ray) Schrunk of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Teresa (Lanny) Chambless of Aspel, Teppi (Leo) LoSciuto of VA, Jesse (Melva) Schrunk of TX; great-grandchildren, Justin Chambless of Aspel, Travis (Michaela) Powers of Moody, AL, Eric Powers of Wilsonville, AL, Taylor, Lauren, and Nick LoSciuto of VA, Kristina Schrunk of CA, Joseph, Melvita, and Raymond Schrunk of TX; foster siblings, Grace (Floyd) Reynolds, Walker (Barbara) Latham, Lester (Arlene) Latham, Mark (Carolyn) Latham, and Judy Colquitt. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ira Moore Travis; parents, McKinnley and Pearl Latham Selby, daughter-in-law, Joy Travis, granddaughter, Sheila Powers; grandson, David Powers; sister, Pearl Bush; foster parents, Sadie and Bent Latham; foster siblings, Gordon (Ira) Latham, Hugh (Mary Ruth) Latham, Walter Latham, Magie (Elmer) Gattis, Raymond (Ruth) Latham, Emma (Arnold) Dean, Ethel (Leon) Fricks, and Rayford (Kris) Latham. Visitation for Ms. Travis is Tuesday, March 29, 2016 from 12-2 PM at Calvary Baptist Church, with the funeral service starting at 2 PM.
