Greely Franklin “Pete” Gibson, Jr., age 90 of Gurley, AL, passed away on September 20, 2015. Mr. Gibson is survived by his wife Betty Maggart Gibson; sons Jimmy Ray Gibson and Thomas Franklin (Gwen) Gibson; daughters Betty Ann (Leroy) Potter and Joyce Marie (Roger) Allen; stepchildren Randy Campbell, Pam Jaiswal, James Campbell, and Debbie Campbell; Grandchildren Jim Gibson, Bob Myers, John Myers, Libby Todd, Shane Potter, Gary Gibson, Ryan Gibson, Brian Gibson, Chris Gibson, and Davita Gibson; 25 great-grandchildren; 4 step grandchildren; friends Randy and Dimple Swafford. Mr. Gibson is preceded in death by his wife Ida Bell Gibson; daughter Connie Kay Gibson; parents Greely and Ella Gibson, Sr. Visitation for Mr. Gibson will be Tuesday, September 22, 2015 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Rudder Funeral Home in Scottsboro. Mr. Gibson will lie in state from 12:00 – 1:00 PM and the funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at Pathway Baptist Church in Scottsboro with Brother Joe Moore, Brother Brian Gibson, and Brother Brian Guinn officiating.
