Hardy Lee "Wally" Cox's Obituary
Hardy Lee “Wally” Cox, age 71 of Scottsboro, AL, passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2016. He retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad Company after 32 years of employment. He was also a veteran of the US Army where he earned a National Defense Medal and an Expert Rifle Badge (M-14). Wally was an avid player at the Chattanooga Tennis Association for 20 plus years and won titles in singles and doubles.
Wally is survived by his wife, Wendy Morrissey; sons, Brandon “Cody” Cox of Red Bank, TN and Edward Lee Cox of Anderson, SC; grandchildren, Logan Cox and Taylor Cox; niece, Barbara Lively; and nephew, Michael Lively. He is preceded in death by his father, Hardy J. Cox; mother, Gladys Inez Cox Allen; and brother, William C. Cox.
Visitation for Wally will be Wednesday, June 22, 2016 from 6-8 PM CDT at Rudder Funeral Home in Scottsboro. Cremation will follow visitation and burial at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. Condolences may be made at www.rudderfuneralhomes.com.
