Harold Raymond "Preacher" Smith, 82 of Crossville, TN, passed away September 26, 2012 at Cumberland House in Crossville. Harold was the son of the late Horace and Minnie Osbourne Smith born February 4, 1930 in Chattanooga, TN and grew up in Bridgeport, AL. He was a U.S. Navy Korean War Veteran serving on the U.S.S. Hancock. "Preacher" had worked as a window and door installer on new construction.
Survivors include his sweetheart De Ett O. Allen; children: Carl Raymond Smith, Terrie Smith Aichele, Richard David Smith, Windell Taylor Smith;7 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; siblings: Judy Gass, Carolyn Tanner and Gurney Smith.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings: Vivian Mashburn, Roland Smith, Paul Smith, Betty Sparks.
Visitation will be Saturday, 5-8 PM CDT at Rudder Funeral Home in Bridgeport, AL. The funeral service will be Sunday, September 30, at 2 PM CDT at the funeral home officiated by Rev. David Smith and Rev. Michael Gass.
Interment and Military Honors will be in the Cumberland View Cemetery in Kimball, TN .
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Harold R. "Preacher" Smith, to Cumberland House Hospice of Crossville, TN or the American Cancer Society.
