Herbert Hoover Raulston, Sr., 81 of Bridgeport, AL died September 4, 2010 at the home of his daughter in Anniston, AL.
Herb was the son of the late Edgar William and Kate Phillips Raulston born January 26, 1929 in Orme, TN. He attended David Lipscomb College and finished with a B.S. Degree from University of Alabama. He was self-employed in the timber trucking business. Herb was a Big Alabama Fan and a member of Bridgeport Church of Christ.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Barbara Raulston Payne.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years Ernestine Beck Raulston; children: Anna (Ronald) Chambless of Anniston, AL, Ginny (Richard) Ross of Gainesville, FL, Katherine (John) Cordell of Signal Mt, TN, Herbert (Connie) Raulston, Jr. of St. Petersburg, FL; sister Shirley Crownover of Red Bank, TN; brother Edward Phillips Raulston of Bridgeport, AL; 7 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Monday 5-9 PM CDT at Rudder Funeral Home in Bridgeport, AL. The funeral service will be Tuesday, September 7, at 11 AM CDT at the funeral home chapel officiated by Bro. Roger Comstock and Bro. Danny Rader. Interment will be at the Hackworth Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Herbert Raulston, Sr. to the Bridgeport Church of Christ Mission Program.
