Ida Veora Tipton Seabolt, 85 long-time resident of Bridgeport, AL, widow of Joe John Seabolt, died Sunday, September 28, 2008 at the Rainey Hospice House in Anderson, SC.
Born June 21, 1923 in Madison County, AL, she was the daughter of the late Robert Earl and Omie Lee Graham Tipton. She was a homemaker and former volunteer of Old 96 Girl Scouts Council, Brookside Nursing Center and the Jim Ed Rice Center. She was a member of Lee Shoals Church of God where she served as a Sunday School Teacher.
Surviving are her two daughters: Omie Sturgill of Anderson, SC and Nellie Jo (James) Strickland of Belton, SC; four sons: James (Carol) Seabolt of Jacksonville, FL, John Seabolt, Willie (Janie) Seabolt and Bobby (Janice) Seabolt all of Bridgeport, AL; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a grandson Bobby Sturgill, brother Chester Tipton and sister Venie Young.
Funeral services will be held 1 PM CDT Wednesday, October 1, at Rudder Funeral Home in Stevenson, AL officiated by Bro. O. A. Bethune and Bro. Benny Guess. The family will receive friends 5-9 PM CDT on Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will be at the Chaney's Chapel Cemetery in Dutton, AL.
