Ima Jean Pearl Matthews McCrary, 80 of East Ridge, TN, died July 31, 2011 at her home. Ima Jean was the daughter of the late James Robert "Bob" and Jerushia Lee "Rushie" Matthews born June 22, 1931 in Stevenson, AL. Besides her parents, Ima Jean was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years Grover Cleveland McCrary, Jr.; sons: Robert Cleveland McCrary, Ronald Morris McCrary; sisters: Bonnie Matthews Wynne, Loeta Matthews Davis; brothers James Matthews, Donald Wayne Matthews.
She was a Class of 49 Graduate of Stevenson High School, member of Jones Memorial United Methodist Church and founding member of Allemaude Hall.
Survivors include: son David Bryan (Cindy) McCrary; daughter-in-law Harriett McCrary all of Chattanooga, TN; grandchildren: Margaret Jean McCrary, Mary Elizabeth McCrary, Joseph Micheal McCrary, Tonya Nicole McCrary Hartley, Justin Bryan McCrary; great-grandchildren: Skylar Luke McCrary, Deante' Lashawn Griggs, Koby Marquel Griggs, Lindy Elise McCrary, Cayden Joseph McCrary, Taylor Krystiana Thornton, Jaxon Shaun Hartley; brother Fred Carmen Matthews of Stevenson, AL; sister Charlotte Matthews (Bill) Murphy of Deltone, FL.
Visitation will be Tuesday, 2-9 PM CDT, at Rudder Funeral Home in Stevenson, AL. The funeral will be Wednesday, August 3, at 11 AM CDT at the funeral home chapel officiated by Rev. Bill Castlebury. Interment will be at the Stevenson City Cemetery. www.rudderfuneralhomes.com
